We're Hiring a Family Time Case Manager (TEMP)At the Larimer County Department of Human Services, we strive to be responsive and provide timely resources in partnership with our community so that individuals and families are healthy, supported, and safe. We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and enthusiastic staff member to join our Children, Youth and Family (CYF) Division as a Family Time Case Manager temp.Family Time Case Managers provide support and encouragement to parents of children who are victims of abuse and neglect by helping parents learn and develop parenting skills, increase parental capacity, and make progress in addressing concerns that led to their children's involvement in child welfare. This position promotes, supervises, and monitors safe family time for parents and children to develop and maintain attachment bonding. Family Time Case Managers work as part of the family team with caseworkers, attorneys, treatment providers, kinship/foster families, and parents and their children.This is a part‐time, temporary position with a flexible schedule. Hours vary from 12:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. You'll also attend weekly team meetings on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. The position is primarily community‐based, with the option to work remotely part‐time. You'll be required to work in the office at least one day per week. To support remote work, you must have reliable internet access and a suitable home workspace. Larimer County provides a remote work stipend to help with equipment and supplies.If you're looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of families in our community, we encourage you to apply.What you'll be doing:Supporting safe, supervised, and educational parenting time between children and their parentsEvaluating parenting strengths and challenges, and coaching parents to build skills and confidencePromoting child safety by focusing on the Six Protective Factors: nurturing and attachment, understanding child development, parental resilience, strong social connections, access to community support, and children's social‐emotional competenceCollaborating with caseworkers, legal representatives, caregivers, service providers, and family support networksProviding transportation for children to and from family time as neededDocumenting interactions and observations clearly and promptly after each family contactParticipating in team‐based family support meetings, including Family Unity Meetings, Family Group Conferences, and Permanency Round TablesAttending required unit meetings, individual supervision, and group supervision sessionsFacilitating in‐person parenting time for incarcerated parents at the Larimer County Detention CenterCoaching and guiding kin and non‐traditional kin to provide safe, supportive family time; provide safe, educational, and supervised parenting time for children in out‐of‐home placement and their parentsWhat we're looking for:Knowledge of family dynamics, child development, and effective parenting strategiesUnderstanding of abuse, neglect, and safe, appropriate parent educationExperience working with parents facing substance use, mental health challenges, legal issues, and complex family systemsAbility to work effectively with children who have experienced traumaFamiliarity with social services programs, including principles of case management and service planningKnowledge of community resources and how they relate to client needsStrong observation, assessment, and documentation skillsAbility to contribute to and implement service plansEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to respond appropriately to crises and manage conflict situationsSkilled in time management and scheduling multiple appointments efficientlyAbility to maintain timely and accurate records of work performedSafe driving skills and understanding of proper passenger restraint techniquesAbility to act as a credible witness when testifying in courtMinimum QualificationsEquivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required.
