Position Title: AI DeveloperLocation: Hybrid in Birmingham, ALPosition Status: Contract to hireKey ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain AI-powered applications using Python and LangChain.Assist in designing and implementing applications that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs).Build integrations between AI applications, APIs, databases, enterprise systems, and external tools.Develop and maintain prompts, chains, agents, workflows, and supporting application logic.Assist with the implementation of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions utilizing enterprise or proprietary data.Support AI application integrations using Model Context Protocol (MCP) where applicable.Assist with model customization and optimization techniques, including exposure to LoRA/fine-tuning approaches.Work with structured and unstructured data used by AI applications.Test, troubleshoot, debug, and improve AI application performance, reliability, and accuracy.Evaluate LLM responses and assist in reducing hallucinations and improving response quality.Collaborate with senior developers, data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into working AI solutions.Document application architecture, development processes, APIs, prompts, and AI workflows.Stay current with emerging developments in generative AI, LLM frameworks, agentic AI, and related technologies.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Strong programming skills in Python.Hands-on experience developing AI/LLM applications using LangChain.Exposure to at least one of the following:Model Context Protocol (MCP)Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA)Understanding of Large Language Models and Generative AI concepts.Experience working with REST APIs and integrating external services.Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices.Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.Ability to learn new AI technologies and frameworks quickly.Strong written and verbal communication skills.About Seneca Resources:At Seneca Resources, we are more than just a staffing and consulting firm, we are a trusted career partner.
