Are you ready to support project teams with accurate estimates, clear analysis, and strong communication?The roleWe are seeking a Junior Project Cost Estimator to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. In this role, you will support construction project teams by preparing independent cost estimates, reviewing contractor proposals, and assisting with change order and claim analysis.You will help Project Managers and Construction Managers understand project costs and prepare for negotiations with designers and contractors.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare preliminary independent cost estimates for construction projectsAssist with change order estimates for Owner Authorized RepresentativesSupport price negotiations by providing clear cost dataPrepare claim analysis and related estimatesDevelop detailed construction cost estimates from drawings, specifications, and sketchesReview contractor claims and proposals for merit and accuracyResearch recent cost and price changes in supplies and servicesDevelop scopes of work based on RFI/RFC responsesCompare independent estimates with contractor proposals to identify differencesThe BenefitsPTO: 120 hours annually (vacation/sick time), accrual starts on day one, available after 30 days.Holidays: 8 paid holidays per year, including New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.Insurance: 100% coverage for employee’s Medical, Dental, and Vision, with additional costs for dependents and enhanced plans (Kaiser and Anthem Blue Cross options).401(k) Savings Plan: 100% match up to 3%, plus 50% of the next 2% (fully vested immediately).Professional Development: Up to $1,000 annually for license/certification renewals and qualifying education.Parking: Parking provided, up to $100/month if applicable.The personYou will need:Two years of full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating for facilities or school constructionKnowledge of current local construction labor and material costsExperience developing and estimating scopes of work for change ordersAbility to compare independent cost estimates with contractor proposalsStrong fact-finding and in-depth analysis skillsGood written and verbal communication skillsA bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university in engineering, architecture, or construction managementWhat’s nextApply today to take the next step in your estimating career and support construction projects across Los Angeles.
