Unit Coordinator

Department: Wellness Department Reports To: Program Manager Classification: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY The Unit Coordinator oversees the overall safety, compliance, and functioning of the unit day-to-day. The Unit Coordinator accomplishes this by providing day-to-day supervision, modeling and follow-through. This includes modeling a calm and measured approach to challenging situations, overseeing compliance with company policy, and maintaining appropriate staffing coverage. The Unit Coordinator will facilitate and document the majority of Community Meetings. They will model the tone and intention for all group meetings on the unit for wellness staff as well as provide coaching and supervision for Wellness Counselors on a regular basis. They are responsible for the smooth implementation of processes and procedures on the unit. The Unit Coordinator will also serve as Wellness Coordinator regularly and as needed. They will serve in collaboration with Training Coordinator to oversee the work and offer support and supervision to Wellness Coordinators. This role includes Wellness Coordinator responsibilities such as to administer medication as needed and to oversee the safe functioning of the unit. The Unit Coordinator will manage proper and timely scheduling for the wellness department. Will oversee employee development including the vetting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new wellness staff. QUALIFICATIONS At least three years’ experience in an inpatient or residential treatment setting and two years supervisory experience. Knowledge and skill in the effective residential treatment of adolescents with emotional, behavioral, and substance abuse problems. Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health related field preferred. If recovering from a substance abuse related disorder, must be able to demonstrate continuous abstinence under nonresidential, independent living conditions for the immediate past two years.
