The Head Coach is responsible for creating a positive environment of teamwork, sportsmanship and discipline that reflects the values of the Heschel School. The Head Coach is responsible for planning and executing team practices, game strategy, travel logistics and supervision of assistant coaches. To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a strong understanding of soccer and be able to instruct student athletes in the fundamentals, rules and strategies of the game. They must model appropriate sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.Education and Certification Requirements:Required:High school diploma or equivalentAssociates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or universityMust be First-Aid-CPR-AED CertifiedPreferred:Bachelor's degree in physical education or related area; any level of coaching certification from a recognized sport governing bodyJob Specifics:Length of season- Approximately 10 weeks (Aug 24th - End of October)Pre-season on the weekdays Aug 24th- September 3rd (10am - 12pm or 4pm - 6pm)Regular practices: Two hours, max three sessions per week after school (including games)Game schedule: league games plus playoffs at the end of OctoberPay rate: Stipend ($6000) based on workload and experienceQualified applicants should upload a cover letter and resume.In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
