About the Job: This is a hands-on Senior Cost Accounting role within a growing manufacturing environment, focused on owning product costing, inventory valuation, and standard cost management. You will partner closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership to analyze cost drivers, support margin improvement initiatives, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role plays a direct part in supporting process improvements, capital investments, and long-term manufacturing strategy.
Own product costing, standard cost development, and inventory valuation in a manufacturing environment
Maintain ERP master data including bills of material, routings, labor rates, overhead factors, and standards
Perform variance analysis between actual and standard costs and present insights to operations and finance
Partner with operations and supply chain to analyze labor, overhead, and material cost drivers
Support ROI and cost analysis for new equipment, process improvements, and efficiency initiatives
Oversee inventory controls, valuation processes, and annual physical inventory
Perform key account reconciliations including inventory, PPV, absorption, and waste accounts
Support month-end and year-end close, and external financial reviews or audits
Identify and implement improvements to costing processes, reporting, and system accuracy
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
4–5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
ERP system experience required (Sage experience is a plus)
Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and data analysis
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
Clear communicator comfortable working cross-functionally
Job Status: Direct hire. Fully on-site in Akron, NY
Salary: $75,000–$95,000
