You will independently test material properties, collaborate with production teammates to resolve issues and participate in quality improvement efforts. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical accuracy and the ability to perform root cause investigations with limited guidance. Test chemical and physical properties of finished lubricants Collaborate with production to correct quality issuesAdjust blends independently based on test resultsPerform packaging line audits using established audit toolsSupport multiple sites as needed based on staffing requirementsClean and stock laboratory materials to maintain readinessDispose of expired quality samples following proper proceduresCalibrate and validate laboratory instrumentsPrepare calibration standards for routine testingAssist with used oil analysis in collaboration with the ChemistProvide certification of analysis as neededTroubleshoot quality and instrumentation issues with guidanceImplement continuous improvement projects under direct supervisionInvestigate nonconforming products and manage Q-hold activitiesDemonstrate and model Our Values in all interactionsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field or equivalent experienceExperience And/or Training:3 years of experience in a quality or laboratory environmentExperience performing safe laboratory practicesKnowledge, Skills, And Abilities:Strong oral, written, analytical and interpersonal skillsAbility to perform calculations for proportions and solutionsAbility to work independently to organize work and manage prioritiesKnowledge of laboratory test methods and quality standardsAbility to interpret data and identify out-of-spec conditionsStrong problem-solving skills and follow throughAbility to perform accurate blend adjustments and calculationsAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracyExperience And/or Training:Experience supporting fluid blending, packaging or petroleum manufacturingExperience with root cause analysis toolsExperience supporting continuous improvement initiativesPhysical, Mental, Environmental Demands:Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing and use of hands for lab and testing workOccasional bending, twisting, pulling, climbing stairs, reaching, lifting and carryingAbility to lift up to 45 lbs.Use of required PPE including lab coat or safety vest, safety glasses, gloves, long pants and closed-toed shoesWork performed in laboratory, office and production environments with exposure to chemicals, fumes, vapors and noiseAt Ascentek, we are committed to providing accurate and up-to-date information about our career opportunities.
