Position Summary The Medical Billing Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive the equipment and support they need while helping maintain accurate and timely insurance claims. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their healthcare career and receive hands-on training in DME billing. Responsibilities Learn and assist with the full billing cycle, including charge entry, claim submission, and payment posting Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits Input and update patient demographics and billing information accurately Communicate with patients, physicians, and insurance providers to resolve billing issues Assist with claims follow-up, denials, and appeals under supervision Maintain compliance with insurance and company policies Support the billing team in achieving daily and monthly goals Qualifications Prior medical or healthcare experience required (front office, scheduling, medical assistant, or related field) No billing experience required — we will train the right candidate High School Diploma or GED required Medical Billing Certificate or coursework a plus but not required Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn Excellent communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Benefits 401(k) Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off Employee discounts Work Environment This is a full-time, in-person position located at our Howell, MI office.
