System Engineer Application DevelopmentBlu Omega is seeking a System Engineer to support a federal program focused on cloud and infrastructure modernization. This role operates within an onsite environment and is responsible for supporting enterprise systems, cloud integration, and infrastructure operations. The position requires experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms within a mission-driven environment.The ECIS (Enterprise Cloud & Integration Services) program is CBP's task order vehicle for acquiring commercial cloud services, including Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service. It supports development, containerization, API frameworks, data tagging, tracking, and high-availability operations, facilitating CBP's transition to a hybrid cloud environment leveraging AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM, and Oracle. The program aims to modernize systems, migrate legacy applications, and support hybrid-cloud infrastructure management.Location: Springfield, VA 22153 / Hybrid Clearance: Public Trust EligibleResponsibilitiesAdminister, monitor, and maintain servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and enterprise applicationsConfigure, support, and optimize Windows and Linux operating environmentsManage virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere, including ESXi hosts and vCenterOversee network services including DNS, DHCP, and IP address managementPerform hardware installation, troubleshooting, and component replacementImplement backup, disaster recovery, and system continuity plansEnsure systems adhere to security, compliance, and organizational standardsTroubleshoot infrastructure issues and conduct root-cause analysisSupport onboarding of new hardware, virtual machines, and applicationsMaintain documentation for systems, processes, and configurationsCollaborate with teams to support new technologies and proof-of-concept effortsRequired Qualifications5-8+ years of systems administration or related infrastructure experienceScripting skills in PowerShell and BashKnowledge of NFS storage, distributed switches, and virtual networkingExperience with VMware ESXi and vCenter managementProficiency in Windows Server and Linux (RHEL or similar)Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including VLANs, subnets, and IP addressingExperience managing DNS, DHCP, and related network servicesAbility to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issuesStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent experienceAbility to obtain a security clearancePreferred QualificationsExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or AzureExperience with backup and disaster recovery toolsIndustry certifications like VMware VCP, CompTIA Linux+, or Microsoft certificationsPython scripting experienceCompensationSalary Range: 150,000.00 - 180,000.
