Network Engineer, Deployment & Support

This truly global team offers a unique career opportunity to work with all of the latest network technologies and talented engineers solving some of the most complex problems in the industry.Network Engineer, Deployment & Support Responsibilities:Participate in the design engineering and implementation of large-scale data center networks across multiple geographic locationsResearch, develop & deploy numerous technologies and network topologies in order to evolve and scale our data centers and optimize deploymentsInitiate and lead strategic initiatives driving efficiency, innovation, and standardization of our data centersWork closely with cross-functional teams and external vendors to develop new features and influence the future of networkingInfluence future iterations of data center and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructureActively participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) process for network infrastructurePartner with our software teams to develop and implement the tooling required to provision, manage, monitor and troubleshoot our networksWork with network engineering, data center design, and data center connectivity teams to generate network infrastructure design packages for the deployment teamsBuild and nurture business relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendorsDevelop automation and tooling to drive consistency and efficiency in all aspects of network design, deployment, and operationsPerform site visits and work cross-functionally with construction, design architects, and contractors to validate cabling infrastructure and network builds according to Meta standardsMaintain technical reference, process, and training documentation25% to 40% of travel required based on project demandMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experienceExperience with leveraging AI to drive areas efficiencies for improved reliability, quality and speed of deploymentsIn depth experience with designing and deploying large-scale data center network infrastructureDemonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure including design and installation best practices, industry standards, application and limitationsKnowledge of the data center design, construction, and start up/commissioning processesExperience leading cross-functional teams and driving large-scale data center projectsTrack record of solving problems, setting strategic direction, and executing tacticallyWorking knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching) and optical transport technologiesKnowledge of enterprise and provider level network hardware platforms (IP + Optical)Organizational, multitasking, prioritization and communication experiencePreferred Qualifications:Experience leading and or managing technical teamsIn-depth knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP,IS-IS,etc.)Knowledge of network tooling and automation systemsIn-depth knowledge of inside/outside plant cable design and dark fiber buildsExperience working on a global team in a matrixed environment with limited supervisionExperience working with on-site construction teams and managing contractor and vendor relationshipsData center design or relevant telecommunications certificationsDemonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologiesAbout Meta:Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
