Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe client is seeking a Senior Drupal Developer to lead the migration, redesign, and development of three public-facing websites from Kentico CMS to Drupal hosted on Acquia Cloud. The consultant will be responsible for end-to-end Drupal development, content migration, deployment support, accessibility compliance, security, and documentation while ensuring a seamless transition to a new .gov domain.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure Drupal content types, taxonomies, views, workflows, menus, permissions, and reusable components.Develop accessible responsive themes, templates, and custom modules.Analyze Kentico structures and create source-to-target mappings.Develop and execute migration scripts for pages, media, metadata, documents, taxonomy, and related content.Conduct trial migrations, exception handling, reconciliation, and migration reporting.Implement URL redirects, metadata preservation, search, analytics, and SEO requirements.Support deployment, .gov transition, cutover validation, rollback, and hypercare.Resolve functional, accessibility, performance, and security defects.Produce migration specifications, technical documentation, and support runbooks.Required Skills and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or equivalent experience.7+ years of web application development experience.5+ years of hands-on Drupal development experience.Experience with supported Drupal versions, PHP, Symfony, Twig, Composer, Drush, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, and SQL.Demonstrated experience migrating content and data from a legacy or proprietary CMS to Drupal.Strong experience with Drupal Migrate API, custom migration plugins, data transformation, and reconciliation.Experience developing custom modules, themes, content models, workflows, views, and integrations.Working knowledge of Git-based development, CI/CD, code review, and automated deployment.Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA implementation, responsive design, SEO, redirects, and performance optimization.Secure-coding knowledge aligned with OWASP practices.Desired Skills and QualificationsAcquia Certified Drupal Developer or Drupal Grand Master credential.Direct Kentico-to-Drupal migration experience.Experience with Acquia Cloud Platform and multisite Drupal implementations.Experience migrating high-volume pages, files, media, and metadata.Experience with Solr/Acquia Search, CDN, analytics, and automated migration testing.Public-sector or transportation-agency website experience.Must-Have SkillsDrupal Development (5+ years)Kentico to Drupal MigrationDrupal Migrate APIPHPSymfonyTwigComposerDrushCustom Drupal ModulesAcquia CloudWCAG 2.1 AA AccessibilityGit & CI/CDHTML5CSSJavaScriptSQLOWASP Secure Coding
