What You'll Do As a CNC Swiss-Lathe Setup Machinist , you'll play a key role in producing complex, high-precision medical components. Set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC Swiss lathes (sliding headstock) Install tooling, set offsets, configure workholding, and manage high- and low-pressure coolant systems Apply conventional Swiss machining methods to produce tight-tolerance parts Make minor program adjustments when approved (feeds & speeds, deburring passes, sequence changes) Perform and document in-process inspections using proper GDP practices Assist coworkers with troubleshooting machining issues Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) Participate in pre-production meetings as required Act as a mentor and technical resource for new CNC operators Contribute positively to a team-focused, high-performance shop culture What We're Looking For 5–10 years of CNC machining experience 2+ years of CNC Swiss-lathe setup experience (required) Strong understanding of Swiss-type machining and tooling strategies Ability to read and interpret complex prints and GD&T Experience working in regulated manufacturing environments preferred Familiarity with ISO 13485:2016 and 21 CFR Part 820 (preferred, not required) Exposure to related processes is a plus CNC milling & turning Blast finishing Laser marking Cleaning & passivation Anodization, heat treatment, forming Education High school diploma or equivalent (required) Compensation & Benefits Hourly Pay $31–$35/hr (mid-level experience) $36–$40/hr (senior-level Swiss setup experience) Sign-On Bonus xtnlbfm Relocation Assistance Available Full benefits package including 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, and vision insurance Health Savings Account (HSA) Life insurance Paid Time Off Flexible scheduling Travel Requirements Minimal Occasional technical training or workshops Why Marquette, MI?
