Mailroom Clerk
Position Summary Overall support the Mission Vision and Culture of Shoes For Crews The Mailroom Clerk will be responsible for handling sorting and distribution of envelopes and packages within an office The successful candidate will sort mail by hand log incoming packages into an internal system as required They will deliver mail and packages and maintain shipping and mailing supplies In addition the mailroom clerk will handle all outgoing packages including but not limited to packaging items ensuring proper labeling and arranging pickup from carriers The Mailroom Clerk will also order distribute and maintain the supply of breakroom supplies Responsibilities Sort and distribute mail Sorting incoming mail by department location and category Keeping records of sent and received mail Preparing envelopes and packages Sign for incoming registered or certified mail Sort mail by department location or category eg bills notices personal Distribute mail to individuals or departments Correct and reforward misdirected mail Handle Incoming and Outgoing Packages Keep records of incoming packages including their weight return address and description Collect and prepare correspondence to be mailed eg applying appropriate stamps verifying addresses Arrange for express delivery when needed Packaging items for shipping ensuring proper labeling and arranging pickup from carriers eg Post Office UPS FedEx or other carriers Mailroom and Breakroom Supply Management Maintain shipping and mailing supplies such as envelopes tape and stamps and keep an inventory of these supplies Maintain breakroom supplies such as coffee paper products and utensils Restocking of breakroom supplies daily Handle Printing Jobs Ensuring all print jobs are completed on time while meeting company standards Inspect all print jobs ensuring the highest quality standards are met Maximize machine efficiency and minimize waste Maintain current and complete knowledge of all equipment and software Monitor all printer supplies reordering as needed Contributes to team effort by accomplishing daily job assignments Other Organize warehouse space and maintain a clean sanitary and safe work area Provide process improvements recommendations for other departments Other duties as assigned Serve as backup for On site Services team as it relates to putting together and mailing out fit kits Requirements Experience with mail sorting and postage meter machines is a plus Good computer skills or demonstrates basic computer skills for the purposes of data entry and reordering supplies as necessary Well organized with sharp attention to detail Ability to work under pressure Good communication and literacy skills Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to or from a mail cart The working hours are 8 am 12 pm Monday Friday Experience 1 Year Experience as a Mail Clerk or Office Clerk Education High school diploma Preferred Shoes For Crews is proud to be an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse and inclusive workforce Shoes For Crews provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and employment applicants without regard to unlawful considerations of sex sexual orientation gender including gender identity andor expression pregnancy race color creed national or ethnic origin citizenship status religion disability marital status age genetic information veteran status or any personal attribute or characteristic that is protected by applicable local state or federal laws
