Educational Technology Support Specialist

Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking an Educational Technology Support Specialist to be responsible for providing technical user support for the installation and maintenance of personal computing devices, software, applications, network connectivity and the school’s technology equipment.Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, this position plays a vital role in ensuring reliable technology operations that support teaching, learning, and administrative functions. The Educational Technology Support Specialist is expected to deliver timely and effective technical support with a strong customer service orientation. The Educational Technology Support Specialist role is a 12-month position, working during school breaks, including the summer.Major ResponsibilitiesTechnical Support & Help DeskMonitor and respond to Level 1 Help Desk ticketsProvides basic Microsoft Office and peripheral support to employees and others needing to connect to Walsh Jesuit equipment for multimedia presentationsTroubleshoot and repair desktops, laptops, Smart Boards, projectors, printers, peripherals, cabling and other related devicesEquipment, Inventory & Infrastructure SupportSets up and installs computers, monitors, printers, scanners, and peripherals; relocates existing equipment as necessaryMaintains equipment, peripheral and software inventory listsMaintains an appropriate inventory of parts and suppliesNetwork Coordination & Systems Support Serves as liaison with 3rd party/outside clients to provide appropriate network connectivity while maintaining the security and system integrity of the Walsh Jesuit network, servers and peripheral devicesCollaboration, Training and Continuous Improvement Research and test technology tools as directed to provide solutions to employeesCollaboration with peer school employees to collaborate on best practicesSupport faculty and staff training initiativesContribute to developing best practices for technology use within a school environmentFaith Formation Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formationRegular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduledCore QualificationsHigh school diploma and trade school degree, or appropriate certifications.Willingness to continue education and engage in peer groupsExperience in a similar position or equivalent training and experience.Ability to troubleshoot and define problems and recommend or implement appropriate solutions while exhibiting a sense of urgency and customer service orientation.Demonstrated knowledge in hardware and software specific to the schoolAbility to communicate effectively with constituents from the entire school community.Commitment to Jesuit values, faith-based student formation.Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life.Compensation And BenefitsThis full-time position offers a competitive hourly wage along with excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance and a 401k plan with matching contribution.Employment PhilosophyCommensurate with its mission, Walsh Jesuit High School strives to develop a community that represents the diversity of society in general.
