Electrical Engineer Manager

The Greer Group has a great direct hire opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer & Testing Manager in Asheville, NC!We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer Manager with a strong background in RF design, embedded systems, and product testing to support the development of advanced copper and fiber optic communication products. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing and R&D environment and enjoys leading technical projects from concept through production.Key Responsibilities:Develop copper product components for Category 5E/6/6A/8 structured cabling applicationsDesign and develop microcontroller systems, including embedded Ethernet systemsPerform RF simulations and validate performance through testing and measurement using VNA, S-parameters, TDR, and related toolsCreate PCB layouts and board designs with a focus on manufacturability and cost efficiencyCollaborate with mechanical engineers on electromechanical designsSupport product launches and manufacturing implementationDevelop and submit intellectual property disclosuresUtilize HFSS, Designer, and other EM CAD tools to optimize product performanceDesign, implement, maintain, and improve electrical systems and components to meet industry standardsDevelop and execute comprehensive test plans and validation proceduresLead installation, splicing, and validation of fiber optic assemblies for high-reliability communication systemsSupport customer and R&D projects with manufacturability and testing expertiseSupervise the Test and Measurement EngineerCollaborate across departments to ensure quality, communication, and operational successQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required5+ years of relevant engineering experience requiredStrong RF design and tuning experience with active/passive components, filters, antennas, and transmission linesHands-on experience with S-parameter measurements and calibration techniquesExperience with PCB schematic capture, component selection, and printed circuit developmentFamiliarity with networking protocols including TCP/IPExperience with data center hardware, thermal management, and low-power system development preferredStrong problem-solving and project management abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects independently in a team-oriented environmentWork Environment:This position combines office, lab, and manufacturing floor environments.
