Recreation Coordinator

Recovery Center of Niagara is an organization focusing on the care and treatment of those suffering from substance and alcohol use disorder that has partnered with DailyPay for same day access to funds! Employees no longer have to wait until pay day to get their earnings. Our medical facility is located in Newfane and provides each step of care from the detox, medication assisted treatment, rehab and recovery therapy. We are currently seeking a Recreation Coordinator to join our team!
The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for creating and implementing a weekly/monthly recreation schedule for rehab/detox patients that utilizes a variety of physical, creative, recreational, social, and entertainment-based activities, including but not limited to: Yoga, Visual Art, Story Telling, Physical exercise, Competitive Games/Sports, Music, Card/Board Games, and Watching Sports/Films.
Auditing clinical group notes and group sign-in sheets.
Reviewing group attendance for prizes or clinical intervention
Finding/creating multimedia resources (worksheets, readings/articles, videos, etc.) to accompany group curriculum as well as training staff on utilizing/accessing group curriculum.
Implementing any necessary changes to group schedule and developing a monthly recreation/events calendar and coordinating needs with the clinical director/supervisor.
Developing, coordinating, and implementing bimonthly events, including but not limited to Open Mic/Talent Shows, Field Day events, Alumni Gatherings, Special Performances (recovery comedians/speakers, visiting performers, etc.)
Coordinating with outside groups, and facilitators for presentations and regularly scheduled meetings
Coordinating with outside agencies for outside services (Evergreen, Fidelis etc)
Aesthetically improving our physical space by utilizing patient participation in art displays for walls in clinical areas, and a garden area
Timely documentation of patient participation in all group/recreational activities.
Updating monthly program boards
Creating weekly/bimonthly order requests for all materials needed for group/recreations/events.
Completing inventory for supplies
Requests for supplies for: Birthdays
Managing basic monthly budget for groups, event, and recreation planning. Developing, implementing and running group activity curricula for detox and rehabilitation patients for activities
Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Requirements:
1 year or more of behavioral health experience or
Equivalent education
Preferred:
Current NY State QHP license or certification
SKILLS:
Excellent communications skills
Time management skills
Computer skills
Ability to address and solve problems effectively & efficiently.
Flexibility with schedule
Ability to adjust schedule based on needs or issues that may arise
