Litigation Attorney
Job Title: Contract-to-Hire Litigation AttorneyLocation: Sheridan, Wyoming 82801This position may be fully remote; however, candidates must reside in Wyoming.Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our growing legal team. This role will begin as a one-month contract assignment, followed by a discussion regarding full-time employment based on performance, business needs, and overall fit with the organization.The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to manage matters independently in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Handle litigation matters from inception through resolutionDraft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal correspondenceConduct legal research and prepare case strategy recommendationsParticipate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement discussionsManage case files, deadlines, and court filingsCommunicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholdersCollaborate with legal staff and attorneys on active mattersEnsure compliance with applicable laws, court procedures, and internal policiesQualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law schoolActive bar admission in good standing3+ years of litigation experience preferredStrong analytical, organizational, and negotiation skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilitiesAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyExperience with civil litigation, commercial litigation, employment law, or related practice areas is a plusEmployment Structure:This position will begin as a one-month contract engagement. At the conclusion of the contract period, there will be an evaluation and conversation regarding potential conversion to a full-time permanent role based on performance and organizational fit.Compensation:Competitive hourly contract rate with potential full-time compensation package upon conversion.
