Project Manager Commercial Construction MEOur client is a mid-sized General Contractor headquartered in Southern Maine with work spanning Portland to Millinocket, with roughly 90% of its projects located within the state. Known for their highly diverse portfolio-including government facilities, healthcare buildings, K-12 work, historic preservation, marinas, financial institutions, and commercial interiors-they deliver projects ranging from $1M-$20M, with bonding capacity up to $50M. With a team of around 40 employees and a reputation for high-quality, relationship-driven work, they continue to grow their footprint across Maine and New Hampshire. Job DescriptionManage commercial projects from preconstruction through closeout, typically $1M-$20M in value. Oversee budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor procurement, and project financials. Lead coordination with owners, architects, engineers, and internal teams. Conduct regular site visits and maintain strong communication with field staff. Ensure all work meets quality standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations. Utilize Procore, Timberline, and other software systems for documentation and reporting. Support Assistant PMs, Project Engineers, and field teams on larger, complex jobs. Lead problem-solving and decision-making to keep projects on track and within scope. The Successful ApplicantProven experience as a Project Manager for a commercial General Contractor. Background managing diverse project types (government, healthcare, institutional, commercial, or similar). Ability to handle multiple projects or one large, complex project depending on size. Strong communication, budgeting, scheduling, and leadership capabilities. Proficiency with Procore and industry-standard construction software (preferred).
