Senior Data Engineer

A global investment management firm focused on alternative investments is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join its Information Solutions team. You will help transform complex data into actionable insights and enable data driven decision making across the business.What You Will DoDesign and build scalable and secure data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, or Fabric and related cloud servicesDevelop ETL and ELT processes to move and transform data through multiple layers of maturityImplement DevOps practices for code development, deployment, and automationPerform testing including unit, system, quality assurance, and automated testing processesManage and optimize data storage solutions using Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, and modern analytics platformsCreate and maintain data models and architecture to support analytics and reporting needsEnsure data quality through validation, cleansing, and integration processesIntegrate data from external sources such as financial data providers and internal systemsCollaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver effective data solutionsDocument data pipelines, models, and quality processesEvaluate current processes and identify opportunities to leverage cloud based data and analytics solutionsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, or a related fieldExtensive experience in data engineering and analytics with a strong focus on cloud technologiesHands on experience building data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakesStrong knowledge of Azure data services and modern data architecture patternsFamiliarity with financial services or asset management data concepts such as portfolios, securities, performance, and benchmarksExperience working with financial data providers and alternative data sourcesStrong understanding of data modeling and data quality best practicesAbility to collaborate effectively with cross functional teamsAdditional SkillsStrong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearlyAbility to work both independently and in a collaborative team environmentStrong attention to detail and problem solving skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demandsSelf motivated with a focus on accountability and continuous improvementStrong organizational skills and ability to deliver results in a fast paced environment
