Job Description Electro Mechanical TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role combines hands-on electrical and mechanical work to ensure the reliable operation of manufacturing equipment. You will diagnose and repair electrical issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support automated systems including PLCs and robotics in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot electrical issues on all types of manufacturing machinery to minimize downtime and maintain safe, efficient operations.Work safely with 480V and 3-phase electrical systems, including the installation, repair, and wiring of manufacturing equipment.Perform regular preventive maintenance on electrical and electromechanical systems to prevent failures and extend equipment life.Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support accurate installation and troubleshooting.Correctly use a voltmeter and related test equipment to diagnose electrical problems and verify system performance.Troubleshoot PLC systems, including Siemens platforms, to identify and resolve control-related issues.Troubleshoot robotic systems, including Fanuc robots, to ensure consistent and reliable automated operations.Work with control panels and wiring, including assembly, modification, and repair of control circuits.Install, adjust, and maintain photo eyes, sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs) to support automated processes.Support maintenance activities involving AC and DC motors, including wiring, testing, and replacement.Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to prioritize tasks, communicate findings, and implement long-term corrective actions.Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications to ensure accurate records and support continuous improvement.Essential SkillsAt least 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Strong experience with electrical troubleshooting on manufacturing machinery and equipment.Proficiency working with 480V and 3-phase power systems, including safe handling and wiring practices.Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.Skilled in using a voltmeter and other electrical test instruments for troubleshooting and verification.Hands-on experience with preventive maintenance on electrical and electromechanical systems.Proven ability to troubleshoot PLC systems, including Siemens-based controls.Proven ability to troubleshoot robotic systems, including Fanuc robots.Experience working with control panels and associated wiring.Experience with photo eyes, sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).Knowledge of AC and DC motors, including wiring, operation, and troubleshooting.Solid understanding of electromechanical systems in a production environment.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociate degree in Electromechanical Maintenance or Electrical Engineering.Journeyman Electrician qualification.Experience in automotive or similar high-volume manufacturing environments.Comfort working on a structured shift schedule such as a 2-2-3 rotation.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Clear communication skills to work effectively with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.Why Work Here?You will join a team that values technical expertise, reliability, and teamwork, offering strong benefits and a schedule that allows you to work roughly 15 days each month while still maintaining full-time hours. You will work on a 2-2-3 schedule, which typically includes every other weekend and results in working about 15 days per month.
