We’re a new global, vertically integrated low carbon fuels platform established to accelerate the development, production, distribution and commercialization of biomethane at scale across North America and Europe.Position SummaryThe Biogas Senior Operator is a well-rounded technician, who has displayed a proven track record of influential leadership, advanced troubleshooting techniques, training and mentoring capabilities for renewable natural gas. The Candidate must go through a formal vetting process of qualification, which consists of a committee of two Plant Managers, Operations Specialists and the Manager of Operations. The candidate must be able to perform as acting Manager in the absence of Plant Management and successfully maintain operations of the Biogas Facility.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for planning and execution of daily maintenance and operations of Air Liquide Biogas facilitySupervise, permit, and verify completion of contractor personnel workMaintain gas collection system to safely and cost-effectively maximize both the quantity and quality of biogas for processingPerform planned/ unplanned maintenance tasks as required (ex. equipment calibrations, equipment PM’s, control system loop checks, electrical, pump repair, instrumentation troubleshooting, replacement of analyzers, aid in compressor tear downs, facility repairs, etc)Complete maintenance logs consistent with facility operating planPlan utilization of production facilities to improve efficiency of operationsMaintain facility materials and spare parts inventoryAssist in routine administrative duties such as expense reporting, procurement, and production forecasts.Ability to work well with others; Interface with landfill (biogas source) operating team to support good relations and coordinate effortsMake suggestions to improve plant safety, operational efficiency and/or product qualityServe as a safety role model; promote a high level of safety awareness; adhere to and support the continuous improvement of all safety practices / procedures for plant personnel, visitors, and contractorsInstall, maintain, repair or replace small gauge electrical wiring to include control wiringPerforms routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tiresComfortable navigating different software to pull trends for data handling and inputTroubleshoot/ maintain plant equipment by utilizing a data-driven approach to pinpoint areas of concern to include electrical devices, process upsets, etcTrain and mentor new employeesRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDStrong command of English language, verbal and writtenAbility and willingness to be on-call, and work holidays and weekends, as requiredExhibits knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, machine repair and operationMust Pass “Senior Operator Qualification”Ability to work with limited supervisionPreferred Qualifications7+ years of chemical/gas processing, production plant operationsDemonstrated ability to work autonomouslyMechanical/ electrical fi eld experienceAssociate's degree in a technical fieldMilitary technical trainingPhysical & Work RequirementsLimited Travel: Occasional travel to support business needs (up to 15%)Industrial Setting: Work is primarily performed on-site at a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facility, split between an office environment and active plant operations.Hazardous Operations: The facility operates as a Class I, Division 2 (C1D2) environment. The manager must strictly enforce and follow all safety protocols, as ignitable concentrations of hazards may exist under abnormal conditionsThe ability to lift 1-50 pounds regularlyThe ability to respond quickly to alarmsThe ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in restricted spaceThe ability to see and respond to dangerous situationsThe ability to operate heavy equipment for extended periods of time
