Job Title: Design & Release EngineerLocation: Warren, MIJob Type: W2 ContractExpected hours per week: 40 hoursSchedule: Hybrid Tues-Thurs onsite / Mon & Fri remotePay Range: $47.50-55 an hourJob DescriptionThe Module Bracket Design Release Engineer is a key mechanical engineering role within Electrical SMT, responsible for developing and releasing robust bracket attachment solutions for electrical modules and batteries on vehicle programs. This role ensures designs are fully integrated into vehicle architecture while balancing quality, cost, mass, and manufacturability, and supports programs through pre-production, launch, and ongoing engineering changes.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and release bracket systems integrated within vehicle architecture with a focus on qualityOwn bracket Statements of Requirements, timing plans, issues, and engineering changesManage cost, quality, mass, and efficiency of bracket designsSupport pre-production build events (physical and virtual) and provide assembly plant launch supportAssist with benchmarking and cost/benefit or trade-off analysisCoordinate with cross-functional engineering teams, suppliers, and customersPresent program and design status to Vehicle Chief Engineer and Program Team RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (hard requirement, no exceptions)Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant engineering experienceInjection molding plastic background (minimum 2 years)Experience with CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) analysisKnowledge of mold flowAbility to evaluate multiple design options and determine the most cost-effective solutionQualifications / PreferredExperience with functional plastics and plastics used in vehicle interiorsAutomotive experience (preferred)Strong collaboration and communication skills within a team-based engineering environmentExperience supporting vehicle programs through pre-production and launch phasesBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO & 401K#INDOEM
