Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Boise, Idaho.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: ICU - Intensive Care UnitDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/08/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: Jun 8, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 1DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU Float Pool RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.DetailsFloat pool position covering ICU, ER, MedSurg, Tele, L&D/PP, and NICU across three acute care hospital campuses (Boise, Meridian, and Nampa)RNs will only float within their specialty and will never be floated to a lower acuity settingICU staffing ratios are 1:1–2; other units range from 1:4 (ER/Tele) to 1:5 (MedSurg)ICU RNs are required to titrate dripsICU and Critical Care RNs must be able to read and interpret telemetry/monitor dataCNA/patient care tech support is available at ratios of approximately 1:8–10 depending on the floor and dayCharge nurses are present on all units; the float pool also has an assistant manager on call 24/7 who rounds with travelers on days, nights, and weekendsUnit assignments are communicated via an app approximately 1 hour before each shift; all three campuses are roughly 20 minutes apart and accessible from the interstate12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM–7:30 AMWeekends required as needed; holiday coverage required when there is a needNo self-scheduling; block scheduling is not guaranteed and special scheduling requests will not be acceptedNo on-call or standby requirementCharting is done in Epic13-week assignmentRequirementsActive ID or compact RN license, in hand and in good standing at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; copies of active certifications must be provided (pending certifications not accepted)Minimum 2 years of ICU experience requiredPrior travel nursing experience requiredEpic EMR experience requiredValid driver's license requiredTwo professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, each including dates of employment and eligibility for rehireCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligibleAdditional InformationProvide critical care nursing across multiple ICU settings at three facilities, including titrating drips and interpreting monitoring dataTravelers may be floated mid-shift to different units or facilities at any time based on staffing needsOrientation consists of a meet-and-greet on day one followed by 3 shifts of inpatient orientationNo specific scrub color required; attire must be clean and professionalFormer permanent employees of this health system must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignmentFirst-time travelers are not eligible for this position; prior travel experience is requiredAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-707846.
