This contract position is tailored for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) ready to work one-on-one with students requiring specialized care.Your day will begin by meeting a student at home and accompanying them to school on the bus, ensuring continuity of care throughout the day. During the school year, you'll have full-time hours aligned with the school bell schedule. Summer hours shift to a Monday–Thursday schedule with efficient workdays. Flexibility is key, as assignments may involve serving students in a specialized classroom or covering nurse duties district-wide when your primary student is absent.What You Bring:Active Missouri RN or LPN license (must be clear in Nursys, no disciplinary history)Pediatric experience preferred (ICU, ER, or prior school environment strongly desired)Proficiency with technology for electronic charting and multitaskingComfortable supporting PreK–12 students, especially those with complex medical needs (examples include g-tubes, tracheostomies, wheelchair use, seizure disorders)Strong adaptability and willingness to serve as a clinic nurse in various district locations as neededKey Responsibilities:Provide direct care to a special needs student, monitoring medical devices and responding confidently to health needsSupport other students in the classroom as necessaryAccompany student on transportation routes to and from schoolMaintain accurate electronic health records and effective communication with school staffBe open to K–12 assignments, including field trips or assignments in other buildingsUnique Opportunity:Experience meaningful days, full support from a school nursing coordinator, and diverse clinical exposure.
