R&D Scientist
Our client, a global leader in the ingredients manufacturing space, is seeking an R&D Scientist to support innovation across refreshing beverage categories. This role will focus on developing and optimizing formulations for liquid & powder beverage systems, partnering cross-functionally to bring products from concept through commercialization.This is a hands-on position suited for someone with strong formulation expertise, experience with beverage systems, and a passion for delivering consumer-driven innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead development of refreshing beverage products (e.g., flavored drinks, functional beverages, RTD systems) from concept to commercializationDesign and execute bench-top trials, pilot plant runs, and scale-up activitiesDevelop and optimize formulations, balancing flavor, stability, texture, and nutritional requirementsEvaluate ingredient functionality, including sweeteners, acids, stabilizers, flavors, and color systemsSupport processing trials and assess the impact of manufacturing conditions on product quality and shelf lifeTroubleshoot formulation and processing issues related to stability, separation, flavor, or appearanceCollaborate cross-functionally with regulatory, marketing, operations, and commercial teamsSupport customer-facing projects, including presentations, demos, and technical discussionsMaintain detailed documentation of development work and project outcomesQualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline3-7+ years of experience in beverage product developmentHands-on experience with formulation of liquid or powder beverage systemsStrong understanding of ingredient functionality and processing impacts in beveragesExperience working in lab and pilot plant environmentsAbility to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPreferred ExperienceExperience with refreshing beverage categories (e.g., juices, flavored drinks, functional beverages, RTD)Exposure to shelf-life testing and stability optimizationExperience supporting scale-up and commercialization in a manufacturing settingCustomer-facing or applications development experience
