In addition to project execution, you will drive business development initiatives, expand client relationships, and help grow the environmental consulting practice across multiple sectors.ResponsibilitiesLead environmental permitting and compliance efforts for large-scale power and industrial projectsManage complex, multi-disciplinary projects including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client engagementServe as the primary environmental liaison with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholdersOversee preparation of environmental impact assessments, site selection studies, and technical reportsManage permit applications and coordinate with federal, state, and local agenciesSupport business development through client engagement, proposal development, and strategic pursuitsExpand key client accounts and identify growth opportunities across power, grid, and industrial sectorsMentor and develop junior staff while promoting knowledge sharing and best practicesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred)15+ years of experience in environmental permitting, compliance, or impact assessment for industrial or power projectsStrong knowledge of environmental regulations (e.g., NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, ESA, RCRA)Proven experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projectsDemonstrated success in business development and client relationship managementExcellent written, verbal, and leadership skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and coordinate across technical teams and stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsExperience with power generation, renewable energy, or large infrastructure projectsBackground in environmental impact assessments and regulatory permitting processesFamiliarity with GIS or ArcGIS mapping toolsProfessional certifications or advanced technical trainingWhat's in it for YouOpportunity to lead high-impact projects in the evolving energy and industrial sectorsStrategic role with influence over business growth and client developmentCompetitive compensation: $150K-$250K base + performance-based bonusComprehensive benefits package including healthcare, 401(k), PTO, and additional incentivesFlexible hybrid work environment and strong work-life balanceHow to ApplyApply directly here or send your resume with the subject line: Principal Environmental Consultant - Chicago.
