Position Title: Heavy Equipment Operator (Seasonal)Reports To: Lead Facilities SupervisorCategory: Seasonal, Non-ExemptSalary Range: $21.00 per hourPosition SummaryThe Heavy Equipment Operator supports Facilities operations at Icy Strait Point by safely operating a variety of heavy equipment and assisting with general site maintenance, logistics, and infrastructure support. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment for guests and employees during the operating season.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment including excavators, forklifts, dump trucks, graders, bobcats, work skiffs, and porta potty service trucksConduct pre-operation inspections of all equipment to ensure safe and proper functioningCoordinate with the Fleet and Parts Coordinator to submit and track maintenance work orders through FleetioAssist with landscaping and site improvement projects across ISPSupport freight pick-up and delivery needs for all departmentsService and maintain porta potties, including operating the porta potty truckAssist with site security needs as requiredPerform general maintenance and upkeep of ISP facilities, including tents, gutters, trash receptacles, site houses, and portable restroomsMaintain public areas including doors, lighting, sinks, windows, bathrooms, and other guest-facing infrastructureRespond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional mannerSupport overall Facilities team operations and other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements & Work EnvironmentAbility to operate heavy machinery in a variety of weather conditions, including rain and uneven terrainAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularlyFrequent standing, walking, bending, and climbingWork performed outdoors in a dynamic, fast-paced tourism environmentQualificationsExperience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts, and similar machinery requiredValid driver’s license required; CDL preferredCPR/First Aid Certification required or ability to obtain upon hireFamiliarity with equipment maintenance and inspection practicesStrong safety awareness and adherence to operational protocolsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong work ethic and reliability in a seasonal, high-demand environmentIcy Strait Point is a Native-owned and operated enterprise and offers Native Preference under P.O. 93-638.
