Field Systems Control Engineer
About the Role
As a Field Systems Control Engineer, you will spearhead the design, commissioning, and optimization of advanced heating and boiler control systems. You will serve as a technical authority, ensuring our complex industrial solutions operate at peak efficiency while providing critical support to clients in diverse, high-stakes environments.
Responsibilities
Design and refine electrical control architectures, ensuring seamless integration across industrial boiler and burner product lines.
Develop robust PLC logic programs to enhance system performance, reliability, and safety.
Create precise schematic wiring diagrams using AutoCAD to facilitate accurate installation and maintenance.
Lead on-site commissioning efforts, providing expert troubleshooting for control systems and PLC logic to minimize downtime.
Ensure all engineered solutions strictly adhere to NEC, NFPA, UL, and CSA regulatory standards.
Produce comprehensive technical documentation and operational manuals to empower end-users and service teams.
Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing and product development teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and field technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
Qualifications
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
3+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering and control systems design.
Demonstrated proficiency in PLC programming, specifically with Siemens and Allen-Bradley platforms.
Expertise in AutoCAD for technical drawing and schematic development.
Strong ability to interpret complex mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation documentation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
Preferred Skills
Direct experience within the boiler or heat transfer equipment industry.
Working knowledge of ASME Pressure Vessel Codes and auxiliary boiler room systems.
Proven track record of managing field service projects in industrial settings.
