AML Analyst

We are looking for an AML Analyst to support anti-money laundering reviews by examining customer activity and identifying transactions that require closer scrutiny. This Long-term Contract position is based in Washington, District of Columbia, and is well suited for someone who is detail-oriented and interested in financial compliance work. The role focuses on reviewing high-value cash activity, recognizing unusual patterns, and helping maintain accurate reporting aligned with regulatory expectations. Responsibilities: • Review customer transaction records to identify cash activity above reporting thresholds and determine whether additional analysis is needed. • Examine account behavior for trends, inconsistencies, or unusual patterns that may indicate potential money laundering or other prohibited activity. • Prepare and maintain documentation that supports regulatory reporting and internal compliance reviews. • Analyze customer files thoroughly to confirm that transaction information is complete, accurate, and properly categorized. • Escalate potentially suspicious findings to the appropriate compliance or investigative teams for further evaluation. • Apply anti-money laundering procedures consistently while meeting quality standards and required turnaround times. • Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to clarify transaction details and resolve documentation gaps when needed. • Bachelor’s or Honours degree required. • Working knowledge of anti-money laundering principles and financial compliance concepts. • Ability to review detailed records with accuracy and strong attention to detail. • Analytical skills to identify transaction patterns, anomalies, and potential risk indicators. • Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting findings and escalating concerns. • Proficiency in managing multiple reviews while maintaining consistency and meeting deadlines.
