We enable homeowners to confidently make the switch to modern, electric technologies and get their homes off of fossil fuels – all at once, or over time.About The RoleWhat you would be doing: Our Account Executives (also know as Home Comfort Advisors or HCAs) guide customers through their electrification journey and sell them our services. They consult with customers to understand their needs, educate them on our products, design & price customized solutions for their home, and earn their business. By setting clear expectations and ensuring a seamless project handoff to our project management team, they play a critical role in our delivery of exceptional service to satisfied, informed customers. Responsibilities include, though are not limited to:Big Things:Designing and Selling Systems: Create personalized electrification solutions for customers, explain technical jargon, highlight rebate and financing offerings, address objections, and ultimately earn a customer’s business.Managing the Entire Sales Pipeline: Own the customer journey from initial contact to signed contract, ensuring a smooth handoff to the project management team.Hitting Sales Performance Targets: Use effective sales strategies to meet or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals.Leading Personalized Consultations: Meet with customers, virtually or in their homes (and in their crawlspaces or attics), to assess their needs, address their goals, and build trust.Setting Clear Expectations: Educate customers about project timelines, the installation process, and expected outcomes in order to build trust, generate referrals, and ensure smooth handoffs to the project management team.Developing the Market: Actively participate in community and industry events to connect with potential customers, identify new opportunities, and stay informed about evolving market needs.Being a Good Human: Actively perpetuate an inclusive, equitable, collaborative working environment in which psychological safety comes first.Little Things:Providing Feedback: Share insights from customer interactions with internal teams to improve sales materials, scoping practices, and product offerings.Refining Our Sales Playbook: Help develop and implement best practices for consultations and system design to improve the efficiency and quality of the sales process.Ensuring CRM Hygiene: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, leads, and pipeline status to ensure transparency and alignment across teams.Staying Current on Products: Continuously learn about new electrification technologies and rebate & incentive options in order to inform homeowners of their best solutions.What you won’t be doing:Cold-calling or cold-emailing prospects to pitch products and services they aren’t interested in.Working exclusively from a desk in a remote sales environment. Expect community engagement, face-to-face interactions, and exploring crawlspaces / attics.Managing post-sale project delivery, installation schedules, or installation teams.Coordinating our supply-chain processes, placing equipment orders, or negotiating with vendors and trade partnersGenerating leads, or developing marketing strategiesTimeline for role expectations:Within one month, you will:Understand our sales process, customer journey, and tech stack.Shadow HCA teammates on multiple consultations with customers, both virtually and in-person.Begin to lead initial sales conversations with homeowners.Understand the fundamentals of heat pumps and building science.Within three months, you will:Manage a limited customer pipeline and earn business from your first set of customers.Lead your own virtual and in-person consultations for customers, with support.Design projects and present proposals to homeowners, with support.Have a working understanding of heat pumps and building science.Within six months, you will:Independently manage a full customer pipeline and hit your revenue targets.Design projects and present proposals with reduced support.Deliver customer consultations autonomously.Have a firm understanding of heat pumps and building science.At one year, you will:Design projects and present proposals with minimal support.Support the growth and success of other members of the HCA teamHave an excellent understanding of heat pumps and building science.Success in this role looks like/can be measured as: Meeting or exceeding personal revenue goals and company gross margin goals.Cultivating customer relationships that lead to five-star reviews and direct referrals.Contributing to our knowledge base, improving our processes, or supporting your teammatesYou're a great fit for this role if you have:5+ years of experience in customer-facing consultative sales roles, ideally in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, home energy efficiency, or general home services. Experience in related fields such as construction, building science, or energy is also highly desirable.A coachable, growth-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn new technical concepts, adjust to changing market trends, adapt to customer preferences, and maintain curiosity through adversity.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; you thrive on connecting with people in various settings (e.g. phone, video, in-person).A proactive, self-starter mindset, with a proven ability to take ownership and deliver results independently.A desire to work in the dynamic, ever-evolving environment of a start-up company.A highly organized method of work, with the ability to manage competing priorities while still adhering to deadlines.A track record of using data, CRM tools, or other systems to optimize processes and drive exceptional outcomes. Experience in learning multiple software platforms.A passion for solving climate change and an enthusiasm for working at a mission-driven company.Indicators this may not be the right role for you:You lack the interest or experience in selling products or services to potential customers and addressing their objections.You lack the interest or experience in trust-based consultative sales, where you act as an advisor and educator to a potential customer over the course of many conversations.You are often frustrated by customers who seek continued consultation, clarification, or support before and/or after agreeing to purchase a product or service.You require highly structured processes to guide your daily activities, and struggle with ambiguity or dynamic environments.You are uncomfortable with self-directed learning or in engaging with technical subjects that you may be unfamiliar with.You are not comfortable balancing multiple responsibilities, such as managing a sales pipeline while coordinating with internal teams to ensure customer expectations are met.Total CompensationTotal expected annual on-target earnings based on individual performance: $120,000+.
