The ideal candidate should be an energetic individual who has a passion for teaching in a Faith based environment. This person should maximize learning for all students and contribute to their development as confident, competent, and creative learners. The position includes responsibility for the PreK-8 music program as well as the direction of the school choir in coordination with the parish for monthly liturgies. A strong primary area of study in elementary music education with a focus on choral education is preferred.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop a Faith based classroom environment that is conducive to learning.Plan general music classroom instruction and thematic lessons for students in grades Pre K-8.Plan choral instruction for grades 4-8 and prepare music for monthly school wide masses and performances.Demonstrate knowledge of the content field.Demonstrate knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy.Set specific objectives wherever possible in lesson preparation and weekly lesson plans.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment, diagnosis, and research related to learning.Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, administration, and the larger community.Maintain accurate records of student progress.Use formative assessments to collect and analyze student data to monitor and track student growth.Proficient in the use of instructional technology.Demonstrate effective written and oral communications.*****Non-certified applicants are welcomed to apply.
