Applies federal, state and local codes and regulations. Providesrecommendations for corrective actions for inspections performed.Prepares and presents written reports. Monitors the presence of, and identifies, hazardous pollutants thatmay pose a threat to public health and environments. Inspects public places and observes changes in the environment. Answers questions in and out of the office from the public regardingdelegated programs. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.\Community Health Services**\ Conducts field inspections of basic to complex difficulty forlicensed food, pool, school, and lodging establishments. Investigates environmental health complaints. Advises licensed andnon-licensed facilities in accordance with federal, state. and localcodes and regulations. Conducts plan reviews for simple to complex food and motelestablishments; reviews and approves food safety plans; performsconstruction inspections of establishments; performs openinginspections for food, pool, and motel establishments. Works in conjunction with other agencies to ensure cooperation formeeting all federal, state, and local codes and regulations.## Minimum QualificationsEducation:**\High school diploma or equivalent.\\Experience:**\A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in the field ofEnvironmental Health or related field.\\Additional Requirements:**\Must possess a valid Arizona drivers license.\\Community Health Services**\Must possess Registered Sanitarian license in the State of Arizona.\Must possess State of Arizona Pesticide Applicator License in theGeneral Pest Control/Public Health category within 6 months of hire.\Must possess a current fingerprint clearance card Issued by the ArizonaDepartment of Public Safety.## Other SkillsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**\\Knowledge Of Environmental health practices and theory. Relevant federal, state, and county codes, laws, and regulations. Principles, practices, and techniques of environmental healthinspections, public education, compliance, and enforcement. Basic biological and physical sciences applicable to environmentalhealth. Business English, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition. Clerical office practices and procedures. Research techniques and report writing. Current Microsoft Office software. Filing and recordkeeping.\\Skill in:**\ Communicating effectively verbally and in writing and communicatingorally in a face-to-face setting and by telephone with public andemployees. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships withemployees, other agencies, and the public. Organization and adherence to detail. Customer service.\\Ability to:**\ Create and manage the inspection schedule. Spend significant amounts of time driving. Perform work in an accurate, neat, and thorough manner and followsall applicable policies. Complete reports, correspondence, etc., with attention to detail andaccuracy. Meet deadlines for assignments, correspondence, reports, timesheets,etc., in the timeframe established. Maintain flexibility to work odd hours, including early morning,late evening, and weekends. Respond to community emergencies that have a public healthconsequence according o requirements of the department EmergencyResponse Plan. Develop and maintain effective working relationships withassociates, employees of other departments, representatives of otherorganizations, County officials, and the public. Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting thedepartment. Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties. Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion always. Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.\\Work Environment:**\The work environment is associated with an office and field environmentyear-round in all weather conditions and includes exposure to loudnoise, blood borne pathogens, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.
