PhlebotomistJob DescriptionJoin our dynamic hospital team as a Phlebotomist working the evening shift from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. In this role, you will be responsible for obtaining blood specimens and collecting non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs for laboratory testing. You will also perform screening tests, report results, and process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing and reference laboratory dispatch.ResponsibilitiesObtain blood specimens through venipuncture and other techniques.Collect non-blood specimens such as urine, sputum, and throat swabs.Perform and report screening tests.Process specimens to prepare them for laboratory testing.Prepare specimens for dispatch to reference laboratories.Assist in emergency situations such as codes and rapids.Essential SkillsExperience in phlebotomy, blood draw, and venipuncture.Phlebotomy certification is preferred but not required.If uncertified, a minimum of 6 months of experience or relevant clinical training is required.Newly certified individuals must have clinical rotations or hospital experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to handle an average of 35 specimen collections during the evening shift.Experience with adult patients, as pediatric patients are rare.Experience in a busy hospital lab setting is beneficial.Work EnvironmentWork in a busy hospital lab setting with an evening shift schedule from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. The role includes rotating weekends with one consistent weekday off each week. The hospital features the only burn unit in the area and predominantly serves adult patients. You will be called to assist in emergency situations and handle arterial blood gases (ABGs).Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tulsa, OK.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $15.00 - $20.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
