CPR/BLS Instructor

Position Summary The CPR/BLS Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training to healthcare professionals, Direct Care Workers (DCWs), caregivers, students, and community participants. The instructor ensures all training is delivered in accordance with the standards of the certifying organization (such as the American Heart Association or American Red Cross) while maintaining a safe, engaging, and professional learning environment. The instructor is responsible for evaluating participant competency, issuing course completion documentation, maintaining training equipment, and ensuring compliance with all certification requirements. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstruction & Training Conduct CPR, BLS, and AED certification and recertification courses. Teach participants using the approved curriculum and instructional materials of the certifying organization. Demonstrate adult, child, and infant CPR techniques. Instruct participants on the proper use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Teach relief of choking for adults, children, and infants. Demonstrate bag-mask ventilation and rescue breathing techniques (BLS courses). Conduct hands-on practice sessions using CPR manikins and training equipment. Evaluate participant performance through written and practical skills testing. Ensure each participant meets all course objectives before successful completion. Administrative Responsibilities Prepare classroom and training materials before each course. Maintain attendance records and participant rosters. Complete all required course documentation accurately and promptly. Issue certification cards or certificates according to the certifying organization's policies. Track participant certification expiration dates when applicable. Maintain inventory of training supplies, AED trainers, manikins, and other instructional equipment. Ensure classrooms are clean, organized, and prepared for each training session. Compliance Responsibilities Maintain an active instructor certification with the approved certifying organization (e.g., American Heart Association or American Red Cross). Deliver courses according to current certification guidelines and standards. Maintain confidentiality of participant records. Follow OSHA infection-control guidelines when using CPR training equipment. Clean and disinfect all manikins and training devices after each class. Participate in instructor updates and continuing education to remain current with guideline changes. Customer Service Responsibilities Create a welcoming and professional learning environment. Answer participant questions clearly and accurately. Encourage confidence through hands-on practice and constructive feedback. Promote professionalism, teamwork, and emergency preparedness. Represent SAKIN LLC with integrity and professionalism. Required Qualifications Current CPR/BLS Instructor Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or another nationally recognized organization approved by SAKIN LLC. Current BLS Provider Certification. High School Diploma or GED. Excellent communication and public speaking skills. Ability to teach adult learners effectively. Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills. Valid Arizona Driver License (preferred). Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card (preferred for instructors working with healthcare students or caregivers). Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching CPR/BLS in healthcare, educational, or community settings. Experience training Direct Care Workers (DCWs), CNAs, or healthcare professionals. First Aid Instructor Certification. Pediatric First Aid Instructor Certification. Stop the Bleed Instructor Certification (preferred). Healthcare background such as RN, LPN, EMT, Paramedic, CNA Instructor, Respiratory Therapist, or other clinical experience. Ability to kneel and demonstrate CPR skills on the floor. Ability to lift and transport CPR manikins, AED trainers, and classroom equipment (up to 30 pounds). Ability to perform repetitive CPR demonstrations. Performance Expectations The CPR/BLS Instructor will be evaluated on: Compliance with certifying organization standards. Participant success rates and course completion. Accuracy of training documentation. Classroom professionalism and participant satisfaction. Timely issuance of certification cards or certificates. Maintenance of instructor certification. Care and maintenance of training equipment. Positive representation of SAKIN LLC. Compensation Per Diem or Contract Rate: $250 per training day (depending on class size and certifications). Opportunities for additional compensation based on private group training, corporate contracts, and weekend classes. Pay: $250.00 per day Work Location: In person
