Psychiatric Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Behavioral Health to provide high-quality inpatient psychiatric care in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary treatment teams to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care for adolescent, adult, and older adult populations. This role requires strong behavioral health nursing experience, crisis intervention skills, excellent documentation practices, and the ability to maintain a therapeutic and safe patient environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for behavioral health patients.Provide direct patient care and continuously evaluate patient progress and treatment outcomes.Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately while monitoring patient responses.Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation, including assessments, care notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, social workers, therapists, and interdisciplinary treatment teams.Facilitate patient and family education related to behavioral health conditions, medications, and treatment plans.Conduct psycho-educational groups and therapeutic patient interactions.Maintain a safe therapeutic environment while implementing suicide prevention, restraint, seclusion, and crisis intervention protocols when necessary.Respond appropriately to behavioral health emergencies and hospital emergency codes.Participate in treatment planning conferences and contribute to ongoing patient care discussions.Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and patient safety standards.Assist with orientation and mentoring of new staff and students as assigned.QualificationsActive New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license or Multi-State Compact License required.Current AHA BLS certification required.Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) required.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Minimum 2 years of inpatient behavioral health nursing experience required.Float pool experiences preferred.Strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing care, crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and therapeutic communication.Experience with behavioral health documentation, medication administration, and patient assessment.Ability to provide care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations.Strong understanding of patient confidentiality, patient rights, and behavioral health safety protocols.Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills.Important Details:13-week contract position (extensions available)Shift is 12-hour day and night shift, 36 hrs/weekLocation is Belle Mead, NJ 08502Pay Range for Locals: $54 - $58 per hourPay Range for Travelers: $2,300 - $2,350 per weekCall to Action:Spots Are Filling Quickly — Apply Now!Company Description:“Pride Health offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors”Equal Employment OpportunityPride Health is an equal opportunity employer.
