Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C) This recruitment offers a $5,000 signing bonus to eligible new employees joining UW Medicine. UW Medicine Primary Care at South Lake Union has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).Work Schedule:Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)Monday-Friday, 8am-5pmRotating Saturday shifts (about once per month)Day ShiftDepartment Description:Located on the corner of Dexter Avenue N. and Republican Street, UW Medicine Primary Care at South Lake Union offers primary care appointments six days a week.The clinic offers a full spectrum of primary care services (including family medicine and integrated behavioral health), obstetrics and gynecology, and sports medicine. Also located within the building, you'll find designated specialty care from the UW Diabetes Institute and the Karalis Johnson Retina Center.Position Highlights:Conveniently located near public transportationMake a difference for the patients and employees we serveOpportunity to provide career growthPrimary Job Responsibilities:Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile recordsPerform injectionsPrepare and clean exam roomsSubmit medication prior authorizationsRecognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to providerAct as a liaison between patient, patient's family and providersAssist provider with procedures and medical examsPerform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory valuesAssist in transporting patients as requiredRequirements:Completion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalentMust be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire.
