The Process Engineer provides hands-on technical leadership and process engineering support across site operations, with a focus on improving process stability, recovery, throughput, and overall operational performance.This role blends plant-level troubleshooting with strategic optimization, requiring both a big-picture systems-level perspective and strong field engagement. The position supports end-to-end production from feed through final product generation and contributes to continuous improvement, capital projects, and process standardization. The Process Engineer plays a key role in advancing data‑driven and digitally enabled process optimization across operations to drive sustained performance improvements.This position is based in Denver with up to 50% travel.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide process engineering and metallurgical support to site operations, including real‑time troubleshooting of plant variability, losses, and production constraintsPartner with operations supervisors and operators to resolve process, product quality, and throughput issues across flotation, DMS, dewatering, and granulation circuitsIdentify, evaluate, and implement process improvements to increase recovery, throughput, uptime, and product quality, with emphasis on high‑margin productionAnalyze process data, trends, and operating conditions to develop actionable insights that reduce variability, operating cost, and reworkDesign, execute, and evaluate process trials and performance testing; document results and standardize successful improvementsEstablish and maintain operating parameters and process documentation, including SOPs, BFDs, PFDs, P&IDs, and material and energy balancesSupport mineral processing circuit design and optimization (crushing, sizing, flotation, DMS, dewatering, and granulation), including feasibility analysis for plant upgrades and new systemsLead capital and continuous improvement projects, including scope development, technical evaluation, implementation support, and performance trackingChampion advanced process monitoring, predictive analytics, and next‑generation process control initiatives, translating operational challenges into scalable, data‑driven solutions that deliver measurable economic valuePromote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATONSBachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Industrial Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 7 years of process engineering experience in industrial or mineral processing environmentsPREFERRED QUALIFICATONS Experience in potash, mining, or industrial minerals processingExperience applying analytics, vision systems, or predictive tools to improve process performanceFamiliarity with data driven decision support or semi-autonomous process controlExperience supporting multi-site operationsSPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIESStrong understanding of metallurgical and mineral processing fundamentalsAdvanced analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesAbility to translate complex data into actionable operational improvementsStrong technical writing and documentation skillsEffective communication and collaboration with frontline operations teamsSelf-starter with the ability to operate independently in dynamic environmentsProficiency with engineering and business systems (e.g., Excel, process modeling tools, ERP systems) WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDWork is typically performed indoors in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Salary commensurate with experience and skill set.
