Stepdown RN - Cascade, MT

A healthcare role is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care within a medical/surgical unit. This position focuses on providing comprehensive care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients. Anticipated patient cases include pediatrics, post-PCI care, pacemaker monitoring, various surgical recoveries, and conditions such as CHF, COPD, DKA, renal failure, and sepsis. The nurse will deliver physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support, ensuring proactive monitoring and timely intervention for patients with complex needs.Responsibilities include operating advanced medical equipment such as arterial lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, multiple IVs, and managing short-term ventilatory support. The role also involves collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes, assessing patient progress from admission to discharge, and providing clinical leadership including precepting staff. Direction will be received from providers, charge nurses, and nursing leadership, while giving guidance to nursing and support staff.Qualifications and Desired Experience:Degree from an accredited Nursing Program.Experience in advanced Medical/Surgical units with recent Progressive Care or Critical Care nursing.Current Montana RN licensure.BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required or obtained within six months.Preferred: EPNC and TNCC certifications.Proficient in using advanced medical equipment, including multiple IV pumps, invasive lines, chest tubes, noninvasive and invasive ventilator support, basic cardiac telemetry, and EKG interpretation.Pediatric experience is a plus.Location: This opportunity is located in Cascade, Montana, a quaint and scenic community surrounded by stunning natural landscapes and outdoor recreational activities.
