Senior Manufacturing Design Engineer, GSE

We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.About The Role:As we move from production into flight test and early operations, we're standing up the infrastructure required to support aircraft once they enter service.The Manufacturing Design Engineer, GSE (Ground Support Equipment) will be the primary POC for the definition and deployment of ground support equipment required to maintain and service Archer eVTOL aircraft in the field. This role is responsible for ensuring aircraft are fully supported once they leave the factory-across early operational sites, including international locations.What You'll Do:Define the ground support equipment (GSE) required for aircraft maintenance, servicing, and return-to-flightTranslate aircraft and maintenance requirements into equipment specifications and site-level needsSupport supplier selection, technical evaluation, procurement, and delivery coordinationLead equipment readiness for new operational sites, including receiving, staging, and validationSupport initial aircraft arrival and early operational activitiesPartner cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance, Flight Ops, and Battery teamsEstablish a baseline GSE framework that can be replicated across future sitesWhat You Bring:Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience6+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing engineering, sustainment engineering, or GSE developmentExperience supporting in-service aircraft in a flight line, sustainment, or operational environmentHands-on experience with ground support equipment, including defining or deploying equipmentWorking knowledge of aircraft mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systemsAbility to operate effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environmentsStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skillsWillingness to travel domestically and internationally (~10-15%)Nice to Have:Experience with NX, Teamcenter, and SAP MESExperience adapting or modifying equipment for new use cases or environmentsExperience with eVTOL, Advanced Air Mobility, or with battery systems and charging infrastructureInternational site deployment experienceA&P certification or equivalent aviation maintenance backgroundPlease note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not include an exhaustive list of responsibilities and qualifications.At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business.
