Job DescriptionUW Medicine Primary Care at Fremont has an outstanding opportunity for a Medical Assistant - Certified (MA-C).WORK SCHEDULEFull-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)Monday-Wednesday, Friday 7am-5:30 (30-minute meal period)Rotating Saturday shifts (about 1 per month)Day ShiftDepartment DescriptionFremont is known as "The Center of the Universe," so what better place to have a primary care clinic for families at any stage of life?UW Medicine board-certified providers offer a complete spectrum of primary care services five days a week, including family medicine with behavioral health, travel medicine, nutrition services, reproductive health and sports medicine.POSITION HIGHLIGHTSConveniently located near public transportationMake a difference for the patients and employees we serveOpportunity to provide career growthPrimary Job ResponsibilitiesRoom patients, take vital signs, and reconcile recordsPerform injectionsPrepare and clean exam roomsSubmit medication prior authorizationsRecognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to providerAct as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers Assist provider with procedures and medical examsPerform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory valuesAssist in transporting patients as requiredRequirementsCompletion of a Medical Assistant course accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) or other recognized regional or national accreditation board OR equivalentMust be Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified or achieve this designation within 6-months of hire.
