P/T Optical Stylist & Optometric Asst - Downtown Manhattan, NYC Part-Time Weekdays About the RoleWe're looking for a skilled, patient-focused Optical associate who's excited to work in a dynamic medical eye-care setting. This part-time position blends traditional optical work with entry-level ophthalmic technician duties — perfect for someone who enjoys variety, hands-on patient care, and being part of a collaborative clinical team. Training for all technician tasks will be provided. Why You'll Love Working With UsPrime Downtown Manhattan location Consistent weekday schedule (no weekends) Supportive, team-oriented environment Opportunity to cross-train in medical optometry/ophthalmology Growth potential within a respected eye-care practice What You'll DoOptician Responsibilities (Primary Focus) Guide patients in selecting frames and lenses that fit their needs and style Placing orders with our off-site lab, and performing quality checks on eyeglass jobs Take precise optical measurements (PDs, seg heights, etc.) Educate patients on lens options, coatings, and pricing Process and track optical lab orders Perform adjustments, repairs, and fittings Maintain frame inventory and merchandising Verify vision insurance and handle payments Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities (Entry-Level) • Perform basic pre-testing (visual acuity, autorefraction, tonometry if trained) • Gather patient history and prepare exam rooms • Assist with diagnostic imaging (OCT, Optos) • Support the clinical team with patient flow and exam readiness What We're Looking For• Optician experience required • ABO certification preferred • Interest in learning ophthalmic technician skills (training provided) • EHR experience is a plus • Strong communication, professionalism, and patient-care skills Schedule & Compensation• Part-time: 2–3 weekdays per week • Competitive hourly rate based on experience
