Job DescriptionRegional Underwriting ManagerJob SummarySeeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Underwriting Manager to lead and oversee underwriting operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a profitable book of business, supervising underwriting staff, and ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. This role requires a strong technical background in property and casualty underwriting, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering productive relationships with internal teams and external partners.Compensation PackageA market-leading salary commensurate with experience.Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Paid time off and holidays.Opportunities for professional development and continuing education.ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, monitor, and control individual risk underwriting programs to ensure profitable growth.Supervise the review and issuance of applications, renewals, and change requests, ensuring all necessary information is gathered and insurability decisions are made within prescribed authority limits.Provide guidance to underwriters on complex risks and make decisions on risks exceeding their authority.Train, supervise, and monitor underwriters, loss control, and premium audit staff to ensure adherence to company policies and technical standards.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding coverages, rates, risk selection, and applications.Coordinate departmental workflow with other divisions in alignment with corporate guidelines.Assist in agent education and training initiatives.Review agency performance in collaboration with marketing personnel.Conduct quality audits on branch underwriting personnel and serve as a member of the Corporate Quality Audit Team.Visit agencies periodically to stimulate profitable production and strengthen company/agency relationships.Monitor industry competition through associations, affiliations, and contracts.Enforce company policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications/RequirementsRequired QualificationsA minimum of four years of management experience.At least five years of commercial lines underwriting experience, preferably with ISO.Strong technical knowledge of property and casualty underwriting.Advanced understanding of ISO commercial class codes and Commercial Lines Manual underwriting requirements.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Bachelor’s degree is required.
