Schnabel is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to join our growing practice to support construction phase work on data center sites across the United States. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team. This position is a great opportunity for candidates interested in construction of major infrastructure projects and a willingness to re-locate based on project site locations. This position will require travel to project sites, primarily in the eastern or central United States with potential project durations up to 2 years. This position is eligible for overtime pay at 1.5 times the normal hourly rate, pay for travel and mileage in accordance with GSA and IRS rates and lodging accommodations near project sites.Job ResponsibilitiesField observation and documentation of construction activities including, but not limited to, earthwork, foundation and retaining wall construction.Review testing performed by others of construction materials including, but not limited to, soil, concrete, grout and reinforcing steel.Preparation of reports documenting observations and test results.Communication with contractors and engineers to discuss observations and test results.Required Skills/ExperienceMinimum 5 years of construction technician experienceInterest in working outdoors on construction sitesHigh School degreePossess good oral and written communication skillsAttentive to detail and well-organizedMust be able to lift 50 - 75 pounds on an occasional basis and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, climb ladders and work outsideMust hold a current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record to operate company or personal vehicles for work-related travel.Other RequirementsAbility to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit checkAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screeningThe compensation range for this position is between $30-$45/hour. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
