Senior Statutory Accountant

We are assisting a financial services client with their search for a Senior Statutory Accountant. This role supports both GAAP and statutory reporting functions as the company continues to grow, with broad responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of financial data.Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid) $95,000 – $120,000 + Bonus Responsibilities:Process technical accounting journal entries and perform related reconciliations across gross and ceded activity. Support the monthly close process and maintain balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Prepare GAAP and statutory financial reports; assist with quarterly and annual statutory filings. Assist with audit preparation and respond to internal and external audit requests. Research technical accounting developments and communicate impacts to management. Document accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve controls and drive efficiencies. Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 2+ years of experience supporting statutory filings. Property & Casualty insurance experience a plus. Strong knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles; advanced Excel skills.
