Barista

Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Barista to join our vibrant café team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop expertise in food and beverage preparation while providing a welcoming experience for our customers. Prior experience with POS systems is preferred. Availability to open the coffee shop at 7:30 Saturday and Sunday is required. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences. Operate POS systems for order processing, cash handling, and sales transactions. Ensure food safety standards are maintained by following proper food handling, preparation, and sanitation procedures. Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service. Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including cleaning equipment, counters, and seating areas. Restock supplies as needed and manage inventory levels efficiently. Handle cash register operations accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for transactions. Support food preparation tasks such as assembling food items or snacks when required. Uphold food safety regulations and ensure all health standards are met consistently. Experience Previous barista experience is highly preferred, especially familiarity with coffee preparation techniques. Strong customer service background in food industry or retail settings. Knowledge of café operations, serving procedures, and food safety standards. Basic math skills including retail math and cash handling accuracy. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods. Ability to work well in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
