This is a unique opportunity to join at the ground level of a startup environment backed by an experienced and successful leadership team.This individual will serve as both a hands-on leader and technical expert—responsible for managing a growing book of business "soup to nuts" while helping shape workflows, processes, and team structure as the agency expands.Position OverviewThe Commercial Lines Team Leader will oversee the day-to-day servicing, marketing, and operations of a diverse commercial book, with a strong focus on industries such as real estate, construction, and contractors. This role requires deep technical knowledge across multiple lines of coverage, strong carrier relationships, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, build-out environment.This position will be fully remote for at least the first 8 months, with future alignment to a hybrid structure out of the Woodcliff Lake, NJ office.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the full lifecycle of a commercial lines book of business, including marketing, quoting, binding, renewals, endorsements, billing, and claims coordinationServe as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering high-touch service and strategic guidanceBuild and maintain strong relationships with carriers to negotiate competitive terms, pricing, and coverage enhancementsHandle complex accounts across multiple industries, with an emphasis on real estate, construction, and contractor risksDevelop and implement workflows, processes, and best practices to support operational scalabilityAssist in hiring, training, and mentoring additional team members as the agency growsCollaborate with leadership on strategy, market positioning, and long-term growth initiativesEnsure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation within the agency management systemQualifications7+ years of Commercial Lines insurance experience, with strong generalist backgroundProven experience handling accounts across real estate, construction, and contractor segmentsDeep understanding of multiple lines of coverage including Property, General Liability, Auto, Umbrella/Excess, and Professional linesExperience managing accounts "soup to nuts" with minimal oversightStrong marketing and placement experience with both admitted and non-admitted carriersDemonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial or startup-like environmentLeadership experience or readiness to step into a team leadership roleExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsExperience with agency management system Applied EpicWhy JoinGround-floor opportunity with a well-backed startup agencyAbility to make a direct impact on building processes and team structureStrong leadership support and long-term growth potentialFlexible remote work environment with future hybrid scheduleCompetitive compensationJ-18808-Ljbffr
