ECLARO is currently recruiting for a Patient Service Representative in the Aurora, IL area for one of our clients. Position Overview: Patient service representative proactively ensures an exceptional experience for patients when greeting, checking in, and checking out during their appointment; answers incoming phone calls, responds to general patient requests, takes telephone messages and schedules patient appointments.Primary Customers: Patients and their families, physicians, clinical, administrative and practice management staff, representatives from Client Copley Medical Center, payers and other, outside referral sources. Responsibilities:Answers telephones courteously and in a timely manner abiding by the "Telephone Etiquette" RCMG established competency.Takes complete and accurate patient messages.Schedules appointments for providers according to their scheduling guidelines and schedule template; links referrals to the appointment as applicable.Communicates with the clinical staff to keep patients aware of wait times.Collects necessary registration information including patient registration forms, copy of insurance card and patient identification card upon registration; monitors upcoming appointments in the patient registration work queue to assure that registration is as complete and accurate prior to the patient's arrival.Requests and collects the appropriate co-pays, deductibles, etc., at the time of registration following the RCMG Patient Payment at Time of Service policy.Maintains overall appearance of waiting room.Discharging patients; collecting balance due from patient (current or outstanding balance as appropriate; scheduling follow-up appointments, enters recalls into the practice management system as needed for follow-up reminders.Verifies the appropriate insurance authorizations have been obtained and are valid for a patient's upcoming visit as dictated by the patient's insurance plan.Balances individual cash drawer at the end of the business day according to established practice guidelines.Manage and process incoming fax queue, open / distribute daily mail as applicable.Assists in providing meaningful orientation and ongoing experiences to new staff.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college, preferred.Electronic medical record experience, specifically Epic, a plus.Microsoft Office Suite, a plus.Excellent oral / written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills, detailed oriented.Flexible; able to adapt to change.Bilingual (Spanish) capabilities, a plus.
