Commercial Construction Estimator

Our client, a growing construction firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support preconstruction efforts for commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing project documents, performing quantity takeoffs, and coordinating closely with subcontractors, clients, and design teams.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed cost estimates and bid packages for commercial construction projectsPerform quantity takeoffs and analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documentsSolicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bidsAssist in developing scopes of work and identifying project risks and opportunitiesCollaborate with project managers, superintendents, and preconstruction teams throughout the bidding processMaintain organized documentation of estimates, assumptions, and historical cost dataSupport value engineering efforts and cost-saving initiativesManage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlinesQualifications2–3 years of estimating experience within commercial constructionStrong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systemsProficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular)Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong analytical, organizational, and time management skillsExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teamsExposure to healthcare, infrastructure, or public-sector projects preferredExperience working with subcontractor bid leveling and procurement processes
