Position Title: Senior Linux System AdministratorLocation: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CORelocation Assistance: None available at this timeRemote/Telework: NOClearance Type: DoW SecretShift: Day shiftTravel Required: Up to 10% of the timeDescription of Duties:The Senior Linux System Administrator supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:Build, configure, deploy, administer, maintain and troubleshoot virtual and physical servers/systemsEnsure system changes are completed in accordance with developer documentation, configuration management and documentation practicesInstall, configure, and manage RHEL and other Linux-based systemsPerform necessary physical inspections and research using system/event logs and appropriate tools/software to identify problems, trends and aid in troubleshooting actionsAdvise leadership and make appropriate technical recommendations regarding system operation issues and improvements, optimization tools and methods, and process developmentAssist integration managers in problem definition and root cause analysis as neededProvide timely updates to appropriate team leads, managers and stakeholders on status of tasks and troubleshooting effortsMake recommendations to plan, develop and execute work actions that achieve critical-path requirementsIdentify documentation errors and provide recommendations to appropriate personnel for correctionUse REMEDY ticketing system to report, track and document problem and resolution life-cycle actions on faulty systemsPerform evening shift work and weekend duty as needed to meet off-hour mission activitiesResumes, in month and year format, must be submitted with application in order to be considered for the position. The selected candidate may be assigned as an employee for one of our teammate companies.Basic Requirements: Must have 08, or more, years of general (full-time) work experienceMay be reduced with completion of advanced educationMust have 06, or more, years of directly related experience in IT systems, installing and configuring operating systems and virtual machines, and troubleshootingMust have 1, or more, years of experience working in a management or leadership roleMust have experience with Multi Factor Authentication methodologyMust have experience building, configuring and deploying servers/systems in a virtualized environmentMust have administration experience on RHEL 8/9 using Command Line InterfaceMust be able to interface with software engineers, system engineers, and subject matter experts to solve complex integration and technical problemsMust have a current DoW approved 8570 Level II certification such as Security+ CEMust have an active DoW Secret Security ClearanceDesired Requirements:Have experience working with Ansible automationHave experience configuring and managing NetApp storage devicesHave experience with security patching and software management using RHEL SatelliteHave network troubleshooting experienceHave knowledge of Missile Defense, DoD communications systems and MDIOC operationsHave Project Management experienceHave a Degree in an IT or Engineering related disciplineThis position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days.
