The PTA Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for the treatment of disease by physical agents and methods to assist in the rehabilitation and restoration of normal bodily functions after illness or injury under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. In addition, the Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant has a reporting relationship to the team providing care for the client. PTA - ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out the plan of care developed by the Physical Therapist and identifies needs for other home health services. Participates in case management conferences at least every 30 days; and shares information regularly with the Physical Therapist or designee. Instructs adult, geriatric, pediatric, and neonatal client, family and other agency health care personnel in the client’s treatment regimen when indicated. Maintains clinical records in accordance with agency policy. Documents timely and accurate computer entry of patient/job information to facilitate the development of the OASIS data set, orders for service, creation of time sheets and other required patient/employment documents and reports.. Can be depended upon to report to work on-time, use time off appropriately, and complete annual education & medical requirements. Performs related and other duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of an accredited school for Physical Therapy Assistants. Licensed or registered by the State of Massachusetts. Have at least one year (1) experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Maintains current Drivers’ License and auto insurance. Possess reliable transportation (Exception: Employees who utilize public transportation—Supervisory approval required).
